Hey i was wondering if this card is good because i might be getting one for $50. Your opinions are greatly appreciated!

It's an old card but it's still pretty good. It won't play any recent games on max settings though. Are you planning to do any gaming ?

That is the card i bought when i built this comp i think 2 years ago now.. was kickass in the day, even though i orderd a 256MB an got a 128MB an didnt notice for like 4 months lol.

Then i bought a 6800GT about 9 months ago. I OCed it, now days it overheats in intense gaming and my screen turns into a rainbow and freezes :(

ya i am going to do gaming like far cry and medal of honor PA. I was also looking at the Geforce 6600. Which is better out of the two? And Pro i already have a 6200.

LOL then the 9800pro is going to be a downgrade if your going to get that for 50 bucks. what your budget on spending anyways?

haha i have no clue about video cards. I think actually im gonna get a ASUS Geforce N6600 128MB AGP 4/8X for $45 becasue the 9800 sounds pretty old.

so which one is better, ASUS Geforce N6600 or the 9800 Pro i dont know crap about vid cards lol.

If your budget is really under 50 bucks with videocards then I say get the Asus geforce N6600. Its a lot better then 9800pro.

But you still will have problems playing newer games out now to the max settings.

Hehe Pr0, you don't have an idea what your talking about. GeForce 6600 is not alot better than Radeon 9800Pro, they are about the same, only thing 9800 lacks is 3.0 shaders.

EDIT:
COMPARE

Even though 9800Pro looks more powerfull there, 6600 still performs very well, but I would have to say go with 9800Pro, if you can... get a 256 MB edition.

That comes as no surprise. Anand is a world renowned nVIDIA fanboy, just the same as Tom is a world renowned ATi fanboy. You have to consider your sources.

o so im confused on which to get now lol, thanks for the info filip it really helps and thank you too everyone one else.

?

I certainly am not a fanboy, I'm just stating some facts here, 9800pro has higher memory clock and is 256-bit, both have 8 pixel pipelines and that's enough, 9800pro is a better performing video card.

ya it does have higher stuff, i looked at the sight you linked me filip and it wins in everything except like 2 things. Sounds like you really know what your talking about thanks much.

Tystrasza-i wish i could but im just gonna get the 9800 Pro, i dont have 120 dollars to spend on a graphics card, i just want something a little better now.
