ATI Radeon HD 4850 x2

Looks pretty good for gaming. From what I have seen it is a bit better than a GTX280 in most games.
 
Couple things to add to what Seth said. The 4850 X2 is faster than a 4870 by a decent amount and from what I've personally seen, it nearly ties the GTX 280 and slightly pulls away in a few games. At the current prices, shoot for the 4850 X2, definitely.
 
Okay it's the same price as a GeForce 9600GT 2GB...but this one is only 2 512mb ones..
Which one is better? :o

Yes, really. VRAM doesn't mean much unless you're running very high resolutions, 1GB is more than enough. A 4850 core is MUCH faster than a 9600, let alone two of them.

Exactly.

The 4850 is a newer architecure. and better. VRAM doesnt mean much (unless its on the same card (ie 512mb 4850 or 1Gb 4850), expecially since this is better and faster card, thats get much more frames than a single 9600GT.

The 4850X2 is a better choice, as you can CF it later if you want more performace...
 
Okay I just have to ask...because the ATI radeon HD4830 may also be an option...how is this card? Is it worse or better than the 4850? The numbers are pretty close, well let let me know. :o

Also, is dual better? Like 2x 512mb better than 1x 1GB card?
 
From my experience the 4830 is basically the equivalent of the 8800GT O/C edition. At least in benchmarks they are close. Two of those in crossfire i *think* comes close to a 4870, but not 100% sure on that. But go a 4850 if your just going a single card...its just a better card (Looks nicer too ;))

I need something that is withing $128...as that's the price of a GeForce 9600GT 2GB on sale at NewEgg. :p I'm looking at two ATI HD4850 now...the GTX I would but too expensive. :(

I have a 4850 single card and I'm really happy with the speed and the looks of the card. Would it make a huge difference if I bought another one and cross-fired? I have enough power to run two but does it really make a difference? I have a great frame rate on modern warfare.
