Ati Radeon X850

whats weird is that the card looks like its PCI-Express, but it fits into my agp slot and runs...

pci-e card has only 2 inputs with the teeth where agp has 3 divisions on the card with teeth on it...

this card has 2 divisions but it came in a box with agp8x written on it and it diagnostics show that its running agp8x...

anyway, when i run programs the colored artifacts increase and seem to be permanent instead of going away like the ones on my desktop do...

when i run WoW, diagonal green bands of small dots flash constantly across my screen..

any settings or anything that might be causing all of this?

It's most likely a defected video card. I can't think of any settings that would do somehting like this...

thats exactly the same problem i have that is shown in the pictures...however in CoD2, its not as bad as yours, but my desktop is worse than yours...and it starts the artifacts at the Windows XP loading screen when the computer is turning on

also, i used ati tools and clicked scan for artifacts...says no errors, but the 3d cube it displays is splotched with yellow marks

Return the card and get another one, if your still not pleased or get the same results switch to Nvidia....if you still have a problem its other hardware in your pc causing problems

im fairly sure its not the card, because it works in my brother's computer and we have basically the same specs...he has a different psu and motherboard...would this card work with P4P8X-se motherboard?

nearly zero problems...a few green dots, but unless your an inch away from the screen you can't see them...my screen is covered

For some reason, 90% of all the artifacts have somehow disappeared, and the remainder aren't that noticable.

however, now when i load up WoW, certain objects will sometimes flash around and spike...like the text at the sign in screen where it shows the version, will sometimes form into a spike shape and flash around, same for other objects...

any idea on this?
