ati, sapphire? one and the same?

Is ati radeon and sapphire radeon one and the same company? it seems sapphire just slap on one of their stickers onto an ati radeon... confusing...

ati is the company that produces the card itself. Sapphire is the company that buys the card, slaps on a heatsink, maybe OC it a little or put more memory on it, then sell it to you. Atleast i think that's how it works..

Naw, it doesn't matter at all. Actually the other companies are often better.

Usually ATI branded cards are more expensive than their counterparts, so only get them if no one else produces the card you want (for instance, with my ATI X1900 All-in-wonder).

With maybe an exception with Sapphire..... It's a good brand but I've their utilities and Customer Service a bit lacking......
