I can see it, it's a pretty awesome site they made displaying there new line of cards. good music. try another browser...

I'm thinking those reviews of the 1600/1800 series i had seen aren't so far from the truth as i thought.

Well you'll be able to crossfire these new ones.

and as we have learned from SLi, this is probably a waste of money for the performance you get. ATi can say what they will about it bein more "efficient", but if it's anything like there new cards, expectations will probably fall by the wayside.

Once complete, the X1000 family will also include the X1800 XT (625 MHz core/1.5 GHz memory) in 256 MByte and 512 MByte versions ($500 and $550, respectively), as well as the X1600 XT (590 MHz / 1.38 GHz) in 128 MByte and 256 MByte versions ($200 and $250, respectively). X1600 Pro cards (500 MHz/780 MHz) will have a stronger target at the mainstream with a $150 (128 MByte) and a $200 (256 MByte version). And this won't be the last word - as ATI reportedly already preps more models for early 2006.

ATi always preps new stuff...then they paper launch it on there estimated release date...then after a while it comes out :D

ATI will launch with immediate availability a number of graphics cards based on their new architecture. The top-of-the-line Radeon X1800XT will be available as of the 5th of November shipping at a 625MHz core and 1500MHz memory frequency. Offered with 256MB and 512MB of GDDR3 memory it will be priced at $499 and $549 respectively. The Radeon X1800XL will be available on October 5th and offers a 500MHz core and 1GHz memory frequency and comes with 256MB of GDDR3 memory with a price tag of $449. All of the Radeon X1800 graphics cards utilize the full 16-pipelines, they’re just different in terms of memory size and clock speed or both in the case of the Radeon X1800 XL.

There is no point in posting up reviews of a product, from the people who make the product. I don't want to beat a dead horse here or sound totally bias, but how can you trust a company's review of their own products? Of COURSE they will promote it, it would be stupid not to. The reviews they have on their site, are the selected few that praise ATi the most. Same goes for nVidia of course, they only advertise reviews that highly praise there products, you are only getting one view of things.
