With the introduction of the x1950PRO ($199), there wont be any more external conenctors. Now it's internal like SLI is, heres a picture:

Ooo sweet, its about time. It looks cooler. Is that two of them, or just one long one?

There are two cables, one cable is included in each card. This way you dont need a more expensive master card, and it looks nicer as well. This way also has the ability to hook up 4, 6, 8, or even more cards, but they just need the motherboards and software to support it.

Bugs

Too bad Crossfire support is seeing a lot of games having issues with it actually improving FPS as much as it should. Some games have issues with SLI as well. Which cracks me up considering those are the people shelling out the most money they should have the best support no? COH is a great example of a brand new game that doesn't support SLI or CF properly even with a patch to "fix" it. But I do like the internal design and the no "master" card thing. That was pretty dumb in the 1st place IMHO.

Yay no more outside connector crap, maybe i'll crossfire my x1950XTX or something eventually.

It doesn't work on the x1950XTX, or any other previous model. The only one that works now is the x1900PRO I believe.

Whats weird though, is that it looks like the x1950XTX has the solder points where the new crossfire connectors would be, but theres nothing there.

good job Jay of resurrrecting a 1yr. 3 day old thread...

?

Er.... no.... this thread is only 3 days old. You need some glasses or a bigger monitor.

EDIT:

It would have been nice if X1900 series existed in 2005, we would already have DirectX10 :D
