Attempting to clean up the looks

I installed the Longhorn transformation pack, and all has gone well except for two things.
1. The icons on the desktop looks like crap (white backgrounds instead of see through)
2. The boot screen logo looks like crap (not enough colors to support to image)

Anyone know how to fix this? The icons are especially annoying.

Also the shortcut squares are huge and in a bad place, is there anyway to remove them?

When did this happen? I dont know what that software is you are using, but my guess would be that its whats causing the problem. You could remove the software, unless of course you realy need it. Try changing themes, or maybe going back to a restore point.

i have LTP 9.0 which im assuming u do and mine is fine, try changing ur theme

right click desktop, properties, apperance

and now choose from "windows and buttons", and "color scheme"

my favorite is "slate athens" and for color it is "athens(thing taskbar)"

also what version are u using, 7.0 can do this

!!!and u must use a 32bit desktop resolution!!! i know that this is ur problem, i just changed mine to 16bit and the icons look exactly like urs

Ok, Ill try to do that

EDIT: Ok I did that and it worked. Only problem is I cant use the resolution I want with that many colors (ok ok, I have an old computer). Is there any way to change them back short of reinstalling the tranformation pack?

And Im using version 9

Ok, I decided to just reinstall the pack because I wasnt happy with the options I had chosen. Everything is working out fine now.
