Attention MOZILLA FIREFOX USERS!!!

idk if any of you ppl kno about this but there are enhancements for mozilla firefox that will make your internet browsing experience alot more pleasant

if you click on tools header at the top of the browser and scroll down to extensions and then go to get more extensions, you will find that there are extensions for the browser. the two that i've taken a liking to are the fasterfox and the flashgot. I'll give a brief description of both

Fasterfox- This is used to increase the performance and speed of Mozilla Firefox when used. It will speed up the time that it takes to access links in websites or switch from one website to another.

Flashgot- This programs increases the time it takes to download a program, video, software or any other type of downloadable file with Firefox. It will download alot faster than it would without the extension.

There are many other extensions that you can check out but I thought I'd just flaunt the two that I was most fond of

Fasterfox - Theres numerous threads on here that tell you how to do this manually or with other programs.

Flashgot - Well seeing as firefox downloads at my max speed anyway (370kB/s) i dont see how it could download any faster.
 
(Fasterfox)... o0o really? i didnt kno. i havent examined the whole forum yet... i just signed up today. now i feel stupid repostin somethin someone already knows lol.

(Flashgot)... it's true... it'll really download faster. I've tried it today and it's exceptional.

But the max download depends on the broadband service your with and the server your downloading from. Ive got 3Mb broadband so i can download at 370KB/s. And downloading off somewhere like microsoft.com, my speed is a constant 370
 
o0o really...?

do you think it's some kind of false advertising from the site then just to take in more hits from the general public?
 
i personally like forecastfox. gives you a weatherforecast in the bottom right of the browser.

i thought 1.5 was the latest. but maybe not.

i downloaded the extension and i got up to 436kB/s

I have both already :D It's true with proper tweaking using other methods/programs you can get the same results...but these extensions jsut make it that much easier.
 
Personally, I like firefox for what it was originally. I don't really fancy adding to it, au naturel *in a manner of speaking*

I only use flashgot to route the download from firefox to Free Download Manager. I optimized firefox manually and it really increases the speed quite a bit but it is realy only noticeable if you have broadband connection. Dial-up sees very little improvements.
 
I should probably get rid of FlashGot, I don't think i use it. I use the standard downloader that comes with FF.

FF download speed is not capped (AFAIK) seeing as how I've gotten many Mbps from numerous places.

Yea, im saying, the downloads wont go any higher then what your broadband will allow. And my BB only allows me to download at 370KB as a highest, which i can reach with firefox anyway.
 
i recommend that you only download the firefox attachments if you have a broadband connection, b/c Dial-up is definitely way too slow for it

my personal favorite is customizegoogle.

As you type your search in, it drops an auto complete box showing how many results you get for different entries

Yea i love that extension.
