Ok, so I have this project I'm trying to do. I'm trying to edit a picture with various tones of the same hue and shading. The thing is, I want to get rid of some spots and I'm not sure how, without making it obvious that I removed the spots on the object. I want the object to look like it was never edited to begin with. There has to be a way to do it. They do it with models all the time.

What makes it challenging is preserving the tones and the shading. What tools do I need to do this? This is with CS2.

I'm just doing this for fun, but I want to learn, so if you have any help I'd appreciate it.

Is it fairly large area's you are trying to remove, or just very small spots? What exactly are you trying to do (an example).

I dont know if this is going to help, but use the magic wand if it will work.

Just change the tolerance to a lower number for more precise color controlling.

If the picture doesnt work, let me know, I'm just using a new host, so the DNS might not be working yet, but it is for me.

Yeah, the picture doesn't work. :( They are fairly large spots, and the object is a cylinder lying on it's side pretty much. So imagine a popcan, with the light coming down from the top. Essentially what I am trying to do is remove the multicolored logos off the pop can. Imagine a Coke can (but with big multicolored spots on it). I want to make it into a plain red can. Heh. If that makes any sense.

There, used imageshack.

I still dont know if it will work, you've probably even tried it already, but it's all I could come up with. Sorry. :(

You can start but showing us the picture. Without it, all we are left thinking is different colors. Letting us see the actual picture will help.

I can't send the picture, unfortunately. I have my reasons. It is one color, but various shades of the same color. Lie a pop can on it's side and you'll see exactly what I mean.
