Hey guys I did a deal with my dad to swap my laptop for the family computer and figured when I get it I wanted to do a couple of upgrades with the money I would have spend one buying my own computer.
So I figured at first I might spend $500 on it so what upgrades would you recommend on the computer in my sig for that much.
I've never bought off the net before but I have been recommended www.msy.com.au and www.digitalstar.com.au both those sites have their prices listed in AUD but don't include shipping and handling.
I mainly use the computer for playing games with 60Gigs at the moment occupied by games on this the main game I play is Battlefield 2
Also what longer term upgrades should I be looking at I was thinking of buying Vista about midway this year probably going for Home Premium. For these upgrades I'd be looking at the $1000 through to $2000 again Australian.
Also I'm going to be spending a month in England in April and I have family there that could order parts in and give them to me to take back is there much of a saving to do this? Also I will be sending 3 nights in Singapore do they have cheaper parts?
Thanks
Bartman

If you are playing the latest games like bf2 it would really boost the performance to upgrade your ram to 2gb. Another thing you could upgrade would be the video card. The card currently in your pc is good still a good one but you can go better with like a 7800 or 7900. And the last thing to upgrade would be the sound card . If you have multiple speakers or just need better sound it would be nice to have a decent sound card.

Well I was looking at the 9750GT that sells for around $350-$400 I think.
I was going to buy Logitech X530 5.1 Speakers and try and get surround sound set up for games like FEAR (probably my second fave game at the moment) but wasn't looking at buying anything fancy so far as sound cards as I don't really care for sound to much. So what first RAM or GPU? also what RAM and GPU would you recommend from either of those sites? I was thing max of $400 for GPU and $200 for RAM because I already have a gig

get like an ati x1950xt those are beastly, umm ram.. u have to check ur timings and like the speed of them to get another 2 dimms of 512 so u can have 2 gigs with dual channel enabled which will boost your performance by alot, and Good Deal :P
