Audio "Snipper"

I need a program that will let me snip out pieces of songs, and other audio files, and save it as a seperate file. As many supported formats as possible.

Audacity works with .wavs, .mp3's, and Ogg Vorbis. It's free, too.
Nero Wave Editor can save in .wav, .aiff, .mp3 (if you pay extra) and .wma.

Thats the one I tried. Damn confusing though, couldn't make heads or tails of it. Know where I can get a guide?

(I have literally no time to find one. I'm on vacation, and don't want to waste it in front of a screen)

Computerhakk, GoldWave is not free, though it is not particularly expensive and is the best value for money that I know of in audio editors.

Mrbagrat, if you are looking for freeware, Audacity is just about it.

Rip_UK, GoldWave does about the same as SoundForge and the bottom line is $45 v $299. I use both, but GoldWave most of the time because it's easier to use. That's why it's outstanding value.

Thanks for the clearup Starman*.

And to add up again, Goldwave is really simple to use and if you are familiar with like.. Word.. you'll probably pick it up easily because most of it's icons and such are very similar. You can hover over them and they'll tell you what it does and such.

Also, it has supports for files that if needed in the future for a new codec, it'll probably have a plug in where you can download to support such files.
