Automatically turn on PC?

Is there a way that I can have my computer start up automatically? I'm setting up one of my computers as a DVR and want it to turn on to record shows and I want my other computer to be on at certain times to act as a server.
 
Two basic possibilities
1. Wake on lan
2. Wake on timer

:)
Those options would be both in your BIOS :)
 
Wake on timer has a couple options on my laptop

1. Weekdays (Set time)
2. Weekends (Set time)
3. Everyday (Set time)

I guess it's useful...if you can't hit the power button? or maybe if its in a diff room or something. I never use it...
 
I have the wake on lan set on my one computer but it hasn't worked yet. My mobo manual says that it allows it to wake from a "soft off" condition. What exactly is that?

Softoff = you havnt unplugged the power supply etc :)
