ok my comp keep restarting right after the windows xp logo it say one disk need checking i cancel that n it restart over if i let it check it just shut down
this happen after i install windows xp pro sevice pack 2 sometime it manage to get pass the logo n then a blue screen w/ some write letter on it like it not reading any HDD or something it only appear for like 0.1 sec cant really read wat it say. pls really need hlp this problem been happening alot in pass 2 week alway auto restart or shut down w/o any warning
 
now it wont let me even run the cd it shut down in the middle wtf is wrong w/ it is it it the psu? hdd? OS? wat is it?
 
You could have a problem with your hard drive. I recommend mounting it on another machine, backing up all your data, then running a low-level format. Then re-install the drive into your computer and run a clean install of Windows.

If it is power cycling I would bet a fan is failing and you are over heating, but that is a guess.

This is a much better place to start than reformatting your drive. Please disregard my earlier post until you can determine whether or not this is the case.

A drive reformat should be your last resort as it could be a different issue. No need to rush into wiping your data and all that hassle if something else can fix your problem. I must still be waking up...shame on me. :)

It could be either. Are all your fans running when you power on the computer?
 
Try unplugging your hard drive and letting the computer sit idle after POST. Let it sit for a while (hour or so). Does it shut off/reboot on its own then?

Next try booting from a Linux live CD. You can grab one from here. Can you boot into the desktop on the live CD and use the computer for a while without a spontaneous reboot?

During an install several things are being taxed, mainly your processor and your RAM. If the fan fails or goes too slow it can over heat, and computers are designed to shut down if they over heat to prevent hardware failure. Also look to see if any MOSfet chips are blown, you can google image search them and see what they look like.
 
ok i got the comp up n running but still one problem whenever i open a mmorpg it shut down and when i restart it it say something about resetting my CMOS every time before the logo screen so i always have to reset the CMOS it boot normal.
 
The CMOS issues sounds like you just need to replace the battery.

What make/model graphics card do you have in your system. Is its fan running properly?
 
OK. How far into launching the game does the computer shut down. Are you still getting a BSOD as well, or is the computer just rebooting/powering off?
 
about 30sec or so in game idk wat BSOD is but i got nothing it just shut down no warning no nothing.
