AUTORUN help needed..

I noticed on my system that it takes almost 10-15 seconds after I insert a CD/DVD, for AUTORUN to activate.

Is there a way to shorten this time? Does anyone know if there is a registry entry that controls the "start delay" time (Milliseconds?) for autorun? (similar to the Speed up Windows XP shutdown" http://www.johntp.com/2006/02/14/speed-up-windows-xp-shutdown/)

I don't know if there is a way to shorten the time because one of the reasons why it takes so long is because it takes some time for the disc to be read. That takes a couple of seconds and then the Autorun box pops up.

No, there is no way to make autorun pop up faster. It all depends on the disks you put into the computer.

and to f-16: If you get a faster (or fastest) drive, you will still have to wait a little while before it occurs.

Bummer. I just installed a 22X Lite-On DVD/CD drive and I thought it would autorun faster. Oh well. Right now I am using 4X CD-RW's. (Don't have any DVD's yet)
