AVG free edition

Hi,
As every online surfer, i downloaded the free version of AVG.
I have a new laptop, is this eanough for start? Is there a better free security software out there

AVG is good , so is Avast and both are free, I would also use Spybot search and Destroy, and Lava soft Adware 2007 both of them are free as well.

And if you don't have some sort of hardware firewall, by way of a router, I'd recommend you switch out the Windows firewall with something more stable, such as zonealarm, or comodo.

You can download from that link. I use AVG, and it works fine, I also use Super Anti Spyware.

AVG is about the best there is... can't get much better, unless you want to pay of course.

i actually didnt really like AVG free.

i thought it was good until i changed to the pro internet security edition and when i scanned it found about 400-500 viruses that hadnt been picked up by the free one,

and they werent just trackers.

so yeah

but AVG is the best

Yeah, i like avg as well. Also, here are some good anti-crapware programs that i recommend installing.
Spybot SD
Adware SE
Spyware Blaster

All free of course.

And after all the removal tool suggested, you would need CCleaner to clean out all spyware residue (left over files after the removal). link: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

It helps removing any fault in the registry also. Hence keeping your computer running fast.
