AVG internet security,is it worth getting?

I know that the avg antivirus is good but is the scurity suit worth getting?

Is it going to slow my computer down like that norton does? Is it going to increase my start up time?

I am not sure about the avg security package but i find that using both AVG antivirus and Zonealarm firewall together works fine and its free.

I'm running the AVG suite, I migrated from Mcafee which slowed it down terribly. AVG is much better but will depend on your processor so if your comp is quite recent then no problem.

It does need more configuration than Mcafee which worked straight out of the box and I believe anything is better than Norton for speed although they have improved this with the latest version.

Paying for extra AV protection is lame-o. No, I'm kidding. If you're going to buy something maybe it should be bitdefender or nod32 or something though, I think those are some of the best.

I guess i will just stick with the free AVG

Used it together with Zonealarm firewall before but then it starts acting so I no longer use zone alarm products.

same here.. use both free versions for the last year and a half and no issues what so ever.. previously used norton's and mcafree's which all kinds of problems
