AVG problems on Vista?

My daughter was having alot of weird problem with her computer like control panel and various thing randomly popping up for no reason. Her brother came over and told her that AVG doesnt work well with Vista and removed it, now there is no more problems. Anyone heard of this?

Nope that's weird. I had my AVG ruin my computer though haha.

I know the firewall does not work on x64 if you install it into the default "Program Files (x86)" folder.

Try reinstalling it, into a different directory. and also computers are vulnerable without any antivirus.

I have the paid version of AVG and it's good, no problems on x64 (vista and 7) except what i mentioned before.

Actaully its a 32 bit vista

What service pack are you running for vista?

I have no idea, I've personally never used Vista and can't navigate my way through certain things. I noticed she had 60 processes running and tried to get rid of some through msconfig but dont know how to get there..lol Her brother installed something else on there as far as virus protection so I'm just gonna let him do all the fixing from now on if I can't figure it out.
