avg virus protection updating EVERYDAY!?!

This is really starting to tick me off, this free avg protection updates itself every day.


does this happen to anyone else?


can i turn the auto-updater off?? i cant find anything in the settings

And why exactly would you want to do that? The point is to update the definitions. If your definitions are out of date, AVG, as limited as it generally is, would be rendered pretty much useless.

Yeah, you definitely want it to update everyday. Kaspersky updates every couple hours, and I couldn't be happier about it.

The AVG update itself should be pretty quick, but you may want to disable the full computer scan that runs every time you restart your system, and only scan when you tell it to.
