Avg?

my friend's computer has been freezing when ever she tries to do anything. she doesnt currently have an antivirus working on her pc so i was looking up free antiviruses cause were poor college students. do u think that the free version of AVG is a good antivirus? will it work well, cause i have norton and have never heard of AVG.
 
u cud use avast or avira also... they are proven to be better than avg. this is just a suggestion.
