AVI.. plug-in required?? No picture.. just sound

Hello, I have a DVD file on my computer, but it's in AVI format. When I click to play it, it opens Real Player. The sound plays, but no picture and it says a plug-in is missing??

Why not just get the DIVX codec and use the same player?
