Backing up data to dvds??

I need to back-up a lot of data so I can reformat.. I know dvd's can hold Gb's of info as opposed to 700mb a cd can hold, but do I just burn the data to the dvd like a cd, or is there another process/software to doing so?..

dont think xp can burn dvds natively in my computer, in the way it does CDs.

best to use a burning studio like roxio or nero

I'm using Nero, it has a clean, easy to use interface. I recommend it.
