Backing Up Downloaded Software

Hello, I wanted to find out how I can back up software that I have purchased, downloaded,and installed from the internet. I want to transfer a copy of the application to a disk so I can re-install it if my computer ever crashes, but am not sure how to do this. Thanks for any information you can provide!!

If you've installed the program & deleted the download - then I don't know how you could go about this. Barring that, just burn the full downloaded program to CDR (providing that you have a burner/burning program on your computer) for a hard-copy.
