backing up from an IP address

hello everybody.

Here's my problem -

I'm at work, and in our work room, there's a large flatbed scanner, printer, PC combo - and it is going to be serviced soon. sounds like the fan is going out, and earlier it didn't detect the hard drive. it's up and running now... but we don't know how long. my co-worker and i are trying to back up the data to his external hard drive. it is taking for.ever.

That computer, as you scan things... you can access the scanned images at your cubicle/office through an IP address.

what i want to do... is possibly use a tool, like downthemall - and just download all the images straight to a network hard drive. anybody know how to do that, or if it's possible?

Map the network hard drive to the computer and cut + paste it onto the network drive.....

Mapping is one way, another way if you can do it... is attach an external drive to that machine and back it up, would be faster and less stressful for you. (I'd always carry an external back up for that purpose, in case I need it) unless of course the machine is too old to attach a USB device to it?!

Hope that can help?! If not... then... map the drive to a letter that isn't being used and then copy and paste the data there. Good Luck!
