I'm about to purchase a Corsair Twinx XMS2 PC-6400 DHX (2 x 1GB) kit.

However I want to put the above into an old motherboard that only supports up to pc 3200. I was wondering would the board be able to run these (I know at the slower speed of course or if at all) for the time being untill i purchase the new motherboard etc...

Cheers

I dont think so, even to run at a lower speed, if you buy the new RAM in order to use it you'll need to upgrade your motherboard

No, It won't work, no doubt about it.

If you are trying to upgrade your memory, you'd have to buy some DDR RAM, 3200 is the fasted your MOBO will take.

if you buy the new RAM in order to use it you'll need to upgrade your motherboard

If you got that RAM, you'd have to buy a DDR2 compatable motherboard.
