Bad Hard Drive

I boot up my laptop, it says bootmgr is missing, I go into system restore it starts to restore then comes up with an error stating that files are not able to be copied, I am using my system restore disc for vista.

I just purchased a new HD, Am i going to be able to use the system restore disc on the new HD?

I have a satellite p205

im not sure about this but i dont think so, you might want to get some more opinions... but you could alweas back up your data on a server and then reload the os that should reinstall anything that your missing...(make sure you back up every thing youwant to keep becouse you loose all your data when you reinstal)...
