I have the asus a8n32 sli deluxe. I noticed that when i save settings in the bios and then unplug the computer from the electrical socket when i plug it back in my bios kind of resets it self and everything goes back default. I was guessing that its my cmos battery for sure that was fully dead so i changed it but even with a fresh batt its doing the same thing. Anyone got a clue of whats going on? I can't keep any settings saved when i unplug. It's as if i dont even got a battery but i do.....

Sounds like a problem with the battery holder likely the contacts or the holder itself. Not ruling out another problem like a weak eprom have you tried a bios update in case some of the programming is goofed?

If Windows is up and running ok besides the problems indicated you usually can find a windows version. Newer boards also have the EZ-Flash for connecting to the update site without first loading the OS.

The old floppy method requires a copy of the update be at the root of the hard drive as well as seeing a copy on the remvable media there. To see a good flash you have to follow the instructions to the rule to see good results. Usually you type "ren"(rename) old bios version then a space for typing in the new version. When pressing the enter ksy with that correct you usually see some form of progress indicator on many boards.

Asus has several guides for updating the bios seen at http://support.asus.com/technicaldocuments/technicaldocuments.aspx?root=198&SLanguage=en-us
