ok, i put another mobo in my E-Machines, it's all PCI, not 2 PCI and 2 ISA, anyway, i turned it on it turns on, but the light on my monitoris Amber, i tryed the RAM nothing, but i did try 2 get the battery of a while ago, and manage 2 break the little metal piece that was on top of the battery, would this matter?

well it would cause a problem with the computers ability to hold your settings and time, but you should still be able to get it to power up. Make sure you have all the stuff plugged into it correctly. Things like the power button, reset switch, power led, and also check your video card and processor and stuff too. If that all looks good then it very well could be the board isn't any good.

ok, but it did work in my older Compaq? dont see why it wouldnt work? maybe i'll try a different CPU, the 1 in there now, is a 500mhz Socket 370, the original, and i have a 400mhz Socket 370 on my porch, im going 2 try that out.

If it worked in a different computer and not this one make sure that nothing is shorting out the motherboard in the new case that you put it in like the metal case touching the motherboard except near the screw holes.

i tryed a different battery, nothing, another HD, nothing, maybe thr RAM slots are both bad?

and BTW, what would be the problem with this, i have 2 hold the power switch in 2 turn the pc off? then when i let go, it powers back on, even if it's all the way off?

nope, i didnt slide it around or anything, but it's cool, i threw the mobo away lol, cuz i think it was deffinately shot, and it was a POS Compaq mobo, and my Gateway mobo worked with the same cpu, and ram, soo yeah, thanks 4 your help guys.

tryed 2 cpu's, and the video card is integrated.

and didnt tryed flashing the bios, cant even get it 2 the boot screen thing, like the manufacter screen. im not worried about it.
