OK, so some of you may know I switched from my AMD Phenom ii X4 940 to my Phenom ii X4 965 processor. In doing this I had to change everything around. My motherboard was switched to the asus board in my signature along with some GSkill DDR3 memory. Well, after booting for the first time, I had some issues with the RAID driver, but I finally got that fixed and got booted into Windows. Loaded all the correct drivers for the motherboard. Then the unexpected started happening. I started getting random freezes, no blue screen, just freezing at the desktop. I would reboot, and it would freeze at desktop shortly after booting up. I would have enough time to open the task manager and notice that it would freeze as wmiprvse would boost my processor usage to about 97%. Then I started getting graphical glitches during post. I don't think it could be because I needed to do a fresh install due to the graphical junk I was getting during post. It's not the video card as i put my old motherboard back in with the same video card and everything is working as it should.
The question is, with all that said, would you believe it's a motherboard issue?
