My laptop went to shit with a failure somewhere.
It won't charge properly. Checked everything, and had the same problem with a laptop a few years ago, forgot what it is but regardless I remember it costing a good bit to replace and I really would rather not spend the money on a shitty laptop anyways.

Anyways, I have a tight budget.
I want to be able to pay off over time not all at once.
If not I'm just going to best buy and I'll see what they have.
Mainly want it to be able to run games.
Like, games is the focus of it, I don't use alot of memory besides games from steam. The only thing I do that actually requires anything for it is gaming, besides this all I do is random browsing and shit.

Oh, and the steam question, yeah. When I deleted steam to see something, all my games were deleted. So I'm wondering, are these ACTUALLY on my computer? Or is this some sort of cloud thing?

Thanks!

Seriously dude, 3 completely different questions in one. Sheesh.

  1. So you're asking if you can fix the old one?
  2. I want a gaming computer on tick
  3. Where the hell are my games?

Right?

Fix my old laptop computer
Before you buy a new one, my guess is you have the battery and the power plugged in almost constantly? Very rarely used unplugged and on battery? But the battery is always in right?

  1. Try removing the battery and the power plug.
  2. Hold down the power button on the laptop for 45 secs
  3. Replace ONLY the power plug
  4. Try and start it

I want it on tickGet a loan, a credit card or a computer shop that does that finance.

Games are nukedYou steam files are kept in the SteamApps folder wherever steam is installed. It can easily be moved by cutting the SteamApps folder and the Steam.exe file and pasting them where you want your games to live. Then double click on the Steam.exe file and steam will download or restore your access to your games.

If you cannot find your old steam files, just download it again, and install it. It will download anything you need.

1. I did that, and I have to shut the lid for it to charge or just leave it sleep, I can't do anything when it's charging or it won't charge.

2. I was thinking like iBuypower or Cyberpower and just pick out the components, I'm only 17...

3. And I was actually wondering because I wanted a small 120Gb SSD on the build.

I'm going to use this laptop for now, but I think it's finally time to switch over.
So yeah, any builds WITH Windows7 for under 1,000 would be awesome.
I built a decent one. Little over my budget and Idk if newegg does monthly payments though.

And maybe if the processor had an on board graphics card, I could play Valve games on that till' I had money for one? I dunno.

what was the purpose of that post?

And to answer your question, it sound to me like your laptops power inverter (the thing between the wall socket and your laptop) is busted or failing. try a new one and you may fix your problem.

For a desktop, don't pay over time. Save up and buy when you have enough. Parts come down in price all the time. You would not feel very good if you bought a GPU today for $300 and a month from now it is $250, now would ya?
