Bad Video Quality

Hey guys,

I apologise in advance for being somewhat new to all of this - please bear with me. I got a new computer two months ago, and it's a pretty good'un, but unfortunately video playback, and DVDs in particular, isn't amazing.

The picture comes out somewhat pixelated, not amazingly sharp, with bad color contrast.

Here's what I have:

- PC: Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo P
- Video Card: Radeon X550
- Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 913N (no DVI though, unfortunately)
- Current DVD Software: InterVideo WinDVD

Can anyone suggest anything? Is any piece of hardware to blame? Are there settings somewhere I should adjust? Should I get better software (and suggest some if so)?

Forgive my for being somewhat unknowledgeable, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

could it be the movie that u are watch is in bad quality

I checked it with various DVDs and it's definately not the DVD.

Try downloading a simple media player

Perhaps you need better codecs. Here's a place you can get a codec pac (wich is a pack full of usefull codecs) for free.
