Hi this week I've been helping my boss who downloaded a legal version of Adobe Audition 2.0 from the adobe website. The software's serial nuber allows you to instal the software on 2 seperate computers. We installed it on two and it worked fine but then we decided to deactivate it on one and move it to the company laptop which is one of those new premade Toshibas.
This computer can't be more than 3 months old and it's running Windows XP media center Edition '05.
When I installed the software every time I try to log onto it it blue screens and has the heading BAD_POOL_CALLER. I looked it up and it says it has something to do with either bad software or bad drivers and then I read a post from someone on this forum that said it had something to do with hardware not installed properlly. Every other program on this computer runs fine and I'm at a complete loss. I've reinstalled the program 5 times even. Blarg this has been annoying. There is nothing but an ethernet cable and the battery pack plugged into it (I heard things connected through USB can always cause this.)

here's the last three mini dumps

any help is really appreciated. I know more about computers than most but I definitly do not claim to be a pro or qualified to do this I was just trying o be helpful at the work place ><

ALRIGHT!
I actually ended up figuring this one out took me a week but hopefully this can help anyone in the future. The error we were getting was 0x000000D1 apparently there are tons (A1, C1 etc) and my specific one just required me to use Use the File Signature Verification tool. You get to this by going to run (in the start menu :P ) and typing sigverif
I'm not sure if that's ACTUALLY what you're suppose to do but it worked for me :)

It was great I was fiddling around with it and then a friend came in and I was gonna show him the error message and it opened :D

Stopped working still need help. :(

This is how we can get it to open but it's stupid and I have no idea why it is this way...

To open Adobe audition 2.0
1. Go to start menu and then control panel
2. Open System
3. click on the hardware tab and go to "Device Manager"
4. Scroll down to the audio section "Sound, video and game controllers"
5. right click Realtek High definition Audio and click "disable"
6. minimize all programs (windows key+m for all at once)
7. open Adobe Audition and after a few seconds click on the MOTU audio tab
that will open on the bottom of the screen.
8. Click ok until Adobe closes then go back to the Device manager that you
minimized earlier and enable to Realtek High Definition Audio driver by
Right clicking it like before and selecting enable.
9. Open Audition again and Voila!

forgive me for making that idiot proof I had to make a directions key for my other coworkers.

How can I get it to the point where I can just... open it?

Can you just disable the realtek driver full tume or do the systems need sound enabled?

edit: never mind. you are using adobe audition. let me see what I can dig up

OK, is your realtek driver version 5.10.0.5229 or later?
