Ok, i have 1.5 megabit verizon dsl and i'm trying to figure out how much bandwidth i can use before verizon will contact me and question the legality of my practices. Now the legal issues of my practices don't come in with pirating, thats not what i'm talking about. I have an FTP server running 24/7 and i allow my friends and family to connect in order to backup their data and what not. Now say they each have a couple gigs of data they want to back up, probably not a big deal because when they put it on technically they're uploading and i'm downloading. As far as i know ISP's track and are more pickey about how much you upload than how much you download. So say several of them want to pull some of their files off. I could potentially use quite a large amount of bandwidth uploading files. Here's where the legal issues come in, a friend of mine told me that because it's a residential connection they frown on people who have their own servers and what not. Now i've looked over their EULA and it pretty much says if you look at them wrong, smell funny, or act funny they can cancel you. I just am trying to get an idea of how much is too much. I'd like to keep them off my back, and yes i know they say the service is unlimited, but after a certain point i can gurantee they will claim you are abusing the service. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
