Hi Guys,

Does anybody know how I can use all my bandwidth whenever I want to.
Is there a trick? I am using Windows xp.

Thank you.

Thats got to be the mos wierdest thing ive heard all day, why would you want to use your bandwidth up. Then you would have no more internet..... whats the point in that.

And no theres no trick, just start downloading bucket loads of humungous files, try downloading several hundred copies of 3dMark 05, that ought to do it.

Hey Dragon2309,

Maybe you want to read carefully before you get all excited.
I said "whenever I want to" that means when I need all my bandwidth I don't want to be limited, which I am sometime when I download something.

You automaticaly use up the amount of bandwitdth you nead when your download/uploading/playing a game/ect...And when your downloading and surfing the net at the same time you are probibly using all the bandwitdth you have. The only way to get more would be to call up your ISP.

I don't read you carefully could you explain abit more ... properly ?
Its quite stupid if you want to use all your bandwidth, but its simple, download ... a single word and a single answer

Let me try to explain myself better,
When I download from the net, usually, I get around 250KB/s.
When I download using a ftp server or a file transfer software, I get around 50KB/s. The server as an upload capacity of 256KB/s and I have a download capacity of 2MB.
I understand that the server upload capacity will be limiting the download on my side but why can't I use the full capacity of the server.

I hope you all understand me know. I am sorry if I don't master english like you but I am French.

sum ppl are gona laught but i use tesco broadband, i recomend it i have no probs wif it, it is £17.99/month 512kbs and has no bradnwith limits! exelent value

you just contradicted yourself. you understand the server upload capacity but how can you not understand that your download is bottlenecked by this upload capacity? and with illegal filesharing, it all depends on how many peers you are downloading from which depends on the software you use.

Just cos it has tesco stamped over it doesnt mean its not good, they probably use the exact same servers etc than some of the leading companies likt BT.

Didn't I said that already "I understand that the server upload capacity will be limiting the download on my side". Please read me again.

Also, who is talking about "illegal filesharing", I have my own ftp server at home and I need to download some files to my computer at work, also I download some files from my brother computer in France while I am in Nassau, Bahamas.
Nothing illegal about that.

if you understand server upload capacity then the question is already answered. you cannot force a server to up its bandwidth to you.

If your talking about using up all your bandwidth to download something, you can get download accelerators that use multiple connections, and it uses up almost all of your bandwidth (depending on the server).

What if I own the server or I know the person that owns it?
Like I said, the server upload capacity is 256KB/s but when I try to donwload something from it from another computer, I only get 50KB/s. Why?

I use flashget, which I think is one of the best download accelerator, but still I only get up to 50KB/s.
When I know the server capacity is up to 256KB/s.

Because you have to calculate the fact that it is traveling over thousands of miles of cable, then the server/your computer is old/slow, and to slow it down even more there are probibly hundereds of other people downloading it at the same time.

could also be to do with the quality of the wires and if your downloading through the internet your isp might be real busy
