i feel really stupid asking this but i havent been able to work it out:

do barebones come with a HDD and ram and motherboard and all the other internal parts? or are they just a case?

Most likely to be a case, PSU, mobo, CPU, HDD, RAM, and some sort of cooling perhaps.

i would be using it as a media centre.
