basic question about SATA

So i just started building my own system, and I am wiring using the SATA power cables. I have 3 things to plug in, HDD, DVD burner and video card(power only for the video card.). Should I run a seperate SATA power cable from the PSU to each of these devices? or would it be ok to put the HDD and DVD on the same cable? Also, is it ok to have unused molex connecters? Each cable has like 3 molex ends and theres more than I can use.

Does it matter if I plug my SATA data cables in any order in my SATA plugs 1-6? Could I plug them in slots 5 and 6 if I want?

Yes you can use both Sata connectors on the line and no it doesnt matter if you dont use all the molex connectors. I would use Sata 1 and 2 but you can use any, you might have to go into the bios and set the drive as your boot drive

It's fine to use the same cable on the DVD drive and Hard Drive, however if they are SATA don't use both the SATA and molex connectors. Also, the video card would use either a PCI-E or molex connector, not a SATA connector.

He means if the drive has a Sata and Molex power connector dont use both, some harddrives have both.

Like this drive has both, you only use one.
