Battery Light Flashing, Not Charging, Laptop Shutting Down

Dear all,

For the past two weeks I am having a problem with my Laptop.
It all started when I realized that the battery light together with the "on" light kept on flashing. I Checked the battery icon, it was not charging. I tried to manipulate the power cable as I thought it was not well plugged. This would bring the charging on for few seconds then, flashing will restart again until the manipulation did not work again.

The problem has escallated to the point that when I boot with the battery in place, the flashing start immediately. But when I disconnected the power cable, the laptop will work on battery alone.

I then tried with power only, battery out, the laptop will work for few minutes until it will suddenly shut down, first after a long period of time, but later just after few minutes after booting.

So currently I only can work on battery alone after which I can charge it when laptop off only.

Please any suggestion? I have ordered a new battery and adapter. I have a Acer Aspire 7750z-4623

Let me ask you something. Do you keep the laptop charger plugged in all the time? How old is this laptop? You may have a damaged power charging port on the laptop and possible internal electrical damage.

No I don't keep laptop plugged all time, only when in use. Laptop is 6 months old.
May be I need new charger? Right now I am using the laptop and all is working perfectly. The problem will start randomly. Very funny.
Any other suggestion?

remove the battery and keep power plugged in.
 
Hello all,

The flashing lights have started again with battery not charging.

As suggested by EclipticShell, I removed the battery while the power plugged in, the laptop went off immediately on removal of the battery!
I restarted the laptop with power on only with no battery. For the moment after few minutes, it is still working, but I know from experience that after several minutes on power only, with no battery, the laptop will suddenly shut down itself.
I don't know what is wrong?
