Battery question

Regards batttery on my new sony laptop, this type I think Standard Li-Ion battery

a. does it need to be full charged and fully drained several times for memory puposes?

b. someone told me that when using laptop while plugged into ac/house current you should take the battery out of the laptop? that is my main question

My suggestions is read the instruction manual carefully on charging the battery. Some laptops have smart chargers. i leave mine in all the time. I do follow the recommended instructions for maintaining the battery life.

thanks, bought at costco and there was no users manual at all, a booklet about safe handling in several languages and a quick set up one pager, but no manual
