there is something wrong with my laptops battery. it charges up to %17 then it stops. whats wrong with it? compaq evo n610c.
 
there's your problem right there, compaq, just kidding, it sounds like either a problem with your charger or your battery, you could try a different battery and see if it does the same thing
 
Some laptops have something called...well...shit, my mind blanked out. Anyway, it's something in the BIOS that basically runs the battery down to nothing then fully recharges it. Once, I thought mine had locked up doing this process, so I did a hard reset. Until I let it run though the process again, my battery never charged above 85%

correct, that is what i heard, it is supposed to be good for the battery.
