Battleforge: Win 7 Blackscreen of Death?

Just finished downloading Battleforge from steam, and whenever i launch it from the patcher, it loads in on a small block of the desktop. When i attempt to get it to go fullscreen, it goes completely black, locking me out of every command and requiring a forced restart.

Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and using the win7 drivers for my 4890. I'm thinking its a flaw in the drivers, seeing as how i was able to run the demo on vista a few days ago perfectly fine.

Thanks.

Sounds stupid but have you tried compatibility mode? Go to your steam games and find the .exe and right click it and go to Windows XP SP2 / Vista.

Thats strange,I tried battleforge today and it played fine,i have the same...4890.....Windows 7.

Btw battleforge, maybe im dumb but i couldnt find what the hell you had to do in the game...i gave up :D

Well, i kind of got it to work today by forcing it to run in windowed mode through the config file. But, it still won't work fullscreen. I'm not exactly sure why. I think i tried xp compatibility mode and it did the same thing. Windowed mode is ok for now, but i definitely want to get it working correctly.

hahaha i should try the game to see if i will give up too lol. :D

Ok, i fixed the problem. Apparently when it was installing the DirectX during the main install, the files were corrupted. All i had to do was redownload the latest version and make sure no corruptions occurred during install, and everything works fine now.

And, its a pretty fun game, i didn't really find it that difficult to understand (especially compared to other RTS's). However, the tutorial has to be the most boring tutorial i've ever experienced, and that's saying a lot.
