Be Honest..

you know there is nothing wrong with it. if anything, its excessive. i think you just posted this here for attention IMO

Guys, I'm building the PC on NewEgg. The reason the cost is what it is; I'm LITERALLY building an ENTIRE system. Tower, Operating System (Vista Home Premium OEM disc is about $100, in itself) Mouse, Keyboard, Monitor, Speakers, etc..

Also, to DirtyD86: this post is not for attention. In complete honesty, I'm looking to make sure that everything will suit what I'm looking for, before spending $3000 on a computer. I'm looking around at more options, though. Just to be thorough. I'll post the options for review, in a little bit.

Okay, so it looks like this may be what my build will become (assuming there aren't any more concerns or flop-arounds by me; this is a hard decision):

-COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP -$274.98 (including PSU in combo deal)-
===COOLER MASTER R4-L2S-122B-GP 120mm 4 BLUE CASE FANS -$9.99-
-COOLER MASTER Real Power Pro1000 RS-A00-EMBA 1000W -(included in case price)-
-ASUS P5E64 WS EVOLUTION LGA 775 Intel X48 -$359.99-
-Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 3.0GHz LGA 775 95W -$549.99-
===ZALMAN CNPS9700 NT 110mm 2 Ball Ultra Quiet CPU Cooler (was planning to use a different one, but I THINK this one should work: and it seems to be better. anyone use this one on an intel q-model?) -$69.99-
=====Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound -$5.99-
-OCZ Fatal1ty Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3-10666) -$210.99 (or $160.99 after $50.00 rebate)-
+ASUS 4870X2 TOP (still working on finding somewhere to buy this model; much more powerful than the standard: any ideas?) -Not Sure Yet-
-Acer P243WAid Black-Silver 24" 2ms HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor -$359.99-
-Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM 3gb/s -$59.99-
-LG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner Black SATA Model GH22NS30 -$26.99-
-Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit English for System Builders 1pk DSP OEI DVD - OEM -$99.99-

(the build should look pretty cool, too: being as there's an unintentional gray/blue/black theme going on with it)

So, there she is. That's going to be the first buy, anyway. I'll double the RAM up to 8GB, then get another 250GB Hard Drive, then eventually get the two 1TB Hard Drives. Heck, that motherboard has EIGHT sata ports. I'm sure you're all probably starting to see how this will be a $3000+ build, after all. I think I decided to go with DDR3, just because the future's only going to hold so much more potential for DDR2, and I might as well put my foot in the door.

Any thoughts? Anything I should consider changing? I certainly have no intent of buying all of this, before I'm 100% SURE it's what I want. Thanks a lot for all your time, guys. :)
