Should i turn my HDD upside down so the heat from the bottom (im guessing it produces more heat than the metal casing) is facing upwareds so the heat sill rise up and be blown the back of my case by the fan at the front??>

You are correct in thinking that heat rises, however hard drives (generally speaking 7200RPM drives) do not produce a lot of heat. As long as there is a fan, you have nothing to worry about. Turning it upside down would just be unnecessary hassle, in my opinion.

Yes, that is a very good temperature. My hard drives idle at around 43C, so 42C at top is not bad at all.

You don't really need to worry about your hard drive that much to be honest, at that low temperature and assuming you clean your PC occasionally (see above), you should be fine.
