Right. Well everytime i try and install an operating system (except Xp but for all others), it will say Windows is Loading Files as it does at the start, but then (take windows vista installation for example) itll show a screen that is just the background image for the installation. itll stay like that for quite a considerable while before it pops up with the dialog box to choose language. Then after this is selected, itll show the screen just before it pops up with agreeing to the T&C's dialog box. Other people that i have seen dont have this problem, even peoples that have computers way slower than mine. i dont get whats up. The operating system installs fine in its own time, but its really annoyin having to wait so long. It takes around 15 minutes to do what should be almost instant :(

You know... I don't have a solution but can say I've had the exact same problem on my i7. When installing the pre-release on my laptop (Core2 t5550) it zipped right through everything.

What version were you installing that took so long? Were they all 64 bit? Because for my laptop it was only 32bit.

I've also had a huge variety in install times.

Depends on laptop or pc...32 or 64 bit...which o/s...full install or upgrade..

Don't worry...ultimately, if it installs properly.thats all that matters...grab a beer and relax while it installs!!

umm it happens with both Vista and 7. and i have tried both x32 and x64. same outcome. its not major, just makes me wonder why. :/ i wish i could put it right tbh but hey ho. installing a new operating system isnt something you do everyday. but thanx anyway

Hmm I remember when I installed Win7 on this pc. I popped the disc in and started the install. Went outside for a smoke, came back in, and it was finalizing!! Took less than 10min

I only upgraded from Vista and it took longer :/ At first, it said some file was corrupted and I was going to RMA it. But I did it again just to be sure. Took a long time at the same place, but it ended up correcting itself. Whole process took about half an hour. Not bad I guess, but meh.

Same thing happen to one of my desktop too. took forever to install. I though it was caused by my ide dvd rom. guess not...
