I just bought BF2 yesterday and couldnt wait to get back to playing it again since i hadnt played it in a few years. So anyways i install it and guess what it fits on my machine, how is that!!!

But then i notice that the screen blips for a second and says input not supported, ive been doing a bit of research and it seems to me it has something to do with the refresh rate. My monitor is an Acer X183H and its an LCD monitor so its not some old clunky big monitor..

anyways is there a way to change the refresh rate to something that BF2 would accept...how do i do that without screwing up the computer??

how and where do i change these settings??

edit btw

Its not making your settings agree with BF2, its making BF2 agree with your computer. If the game doesn't even launch then you'll probably have to edit the game through some form of config file in its directory, you'll have to look around to try and find that, but just open it in notepad and make sure the resolution is at something your monitor supports and at say, 60hz, or whatever your monitor supports.

I'd like to say this is a last ditch effort, if the game has a launcher or something that lets you configure it before launching the game then use that instead. Only play around with configuration files if you know what you're changing. If that doesn't work, I'm at a loss, especially without more information. Good luck and I hope that does the trick for ya.

i think i just realized that i have to go buy a new video card mine is NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 and they need a higher video card..and i need to update the "display memory"?...ive never heard of that...is that the same as saying i need a new video card

I thought you've played it on this computer before? Either way it looks like you're right about the card. It appears BF2 is more demanding than I thought and you don't meet the minimum requirements.
