Before I order the parts...

Im right on $700 with that setup except Im using this memory:

Since my graphics card is pretty powerful, I might as well just get an 8600gt so Soccrmastr gets off my back. Doing that I could get a better CPU without going over my budget. Anyone recommend me getting a quad core since their pretty new and im guessing the price wont drop for a while? With a quad core, I could get a better graphics card down the road to match its potential.

I guess I have to change my mobo too since I have extremely bad luck with expensive things and dont want to chance anything... I cant find any mobo that I can decide on, anyone mind helping me out?

Man when I built my computer I couldn't decide on a motherboard for the longest time to save my life. Don't worry about it too much, Gigabyte is a good manufacturer and the board you picked will be just fine, trust me.

As for the graphics card, while the statement about your graphics card being overpowered is true, the 8600gt is on the extreme other end of the spectrum, I would recommend at least a radeon 3850 or if you want a little more performance an Nvidia 9600 will work just fine too.

I guess your right, will there be another price drop since the higher 9 series hasnt released yet , or am I asking for too much? :)

Is the 8800gts really that far ahead that I need to buy a $200 CPU like the E4600 for it? I understand that if I dont buy an amazing CPU then itll OP my system but does it really matter? I wouldnt mind paying $70 more for the 8800gts and later down the line when I have the money to diish out just get a better CPU?

The 8800gts is one of the best cards out right now, the only thing better is a 8800ultra or a 3870x2. And you cpu is a good cpu, but not the best. However it is quite allright to get that cpu and the 8800gts and upgrade the cpu later. It boils down to, it's your computer do whatever you want to with it.

Please point out to him he's buying a DX10 card and using XP with it would be a waste.
