Benchmarking program for OC'ing?

Hello, I am new to OCing and I want to give it a try. At the moment I need a benchmarking program that will max out the CPU. I have like 5 programs but I do not understand them. I know how to run the tests and such but I don’t know how to read the results. So does someone know of an EASY TO UNDERSTAND benchmarking program that will tell me everything I need to know?

Also how can I tell if OCing the processor is actually speeding things up, and if so how much? Is there a program that will do something CPU intrusave and time it to tell you how much faster your CPU is then when it was at the stock speed?

The program SuperPi is excellent for what you described- you select how many digits of Pi you wan't it to calculate, and it'll tell you how long it took to calculate it. It uses 100% of your CPU, and obviously, the more you OC, the faster it will calculate Pi.

Use S&M or SuperPi, though I recommend Prime95. Run two Prime95 programs simultaneously for 24 hours after you have a fairly stable overclock. It will tell you when it errors.

SuperPi is an AWFUL stress-testing program. Do not use it. Use OCCT or Prime95 to test the stability of your system. You don't want your Windows installation to become corrupt because your system wasn't stable enogh.

All you need to do is run Prime95 on both cores, make a note of which one fails first. That will tell you which core doesnt overclock as well as ther other. Then, simply run either Prime95 or OCCT off that weaker core.

SuperPi uses one core.

I would use Prime95, or SiSoft Sandra Burn-In. Or you could run some benchmark apps such as the 3DMark and PCMark line.
