What other Computer protector(s) that work safely on Windows XP that I can download free (Including if it's [it is] a trial version) that can: Remove threats (trojan horses, viruses, adware, spyware, malware etc.), Scan my computer, Scan links, detect threats?

There are a lot of Free Anti-Virus programs you can use. Johnb35 put together what I think is a comprehensive list of programs you can use. The list I speak of is here:

I would recommend having an Anti-Virus program along with SuperAntispyware, Malwarebytes Antimalware, and also CCleaner.

CCleaner isn't a malicious item remover. However, the program will remove the temp files assciated with using the internet which over time begin to burden your machine. CCleaner is released through a free download by Piriform Ltd. from here: http://www.piriform.com/
