I would say the x1600PRO for under $160, the X850PRO for under $250, or the 7800GS for under $275.
By the way, I noticed your building that computer on July 14th, and i thought I should just let you know that around July 23rd the prices are going to drop significantly due to the new Core 2 Duo thats coming out.

This is indeed for a friend. His video card bit the dust yesterday and among his options is to replace his now defunct AGP card. Thanks a lot for the replies/info, it definitely helps.
As for my planned July 14th build, I am well aware of the expected price drops of pretty much all AMD processors around July 23. Here's my situation: I have had the same 733Mhz P3 oem system for just over 6 years now. For the first 2 or so years I had it I could actually game with it. Obviously, I can't really do that now, and haven't been able to for YEARS. Rune is about the beefiest game I can play, period. And that's not well.
So...as you can imagine I am itching BADLY for a new system, and if I wouldn't save a large amount of money by waiting until ~July 23, I could care less.
That leads me to this question: does anyone know how much AMD processors will cost come this ~July 23 price drop? I am only interested in single core, I realize dual cores are supposed to be cut in half, or close...but have not heard any info on the singles. Any price info on specific processors would work, as would overall expected price drops across the board, or anything else. Thanks.

Id go for the one i got, if you can find it anymore. Apollo 6800nu 128mb 256-bit DDR 325/700, 12 pipes. But it will unlock to 16 fine, mine will anyway. They come with Ultra coolers on them, so thats an up. Paid $184 for mine off newegg, they have since lowered the price about $40. But its a pretty damn good card.
