One of my friends is looking to upgrade his computer. He currently has a 5200. He purchased a x1300 PCIe(I told him he should of asked the computer nerd! ) He got it locally from Curcuit City for $170 with a $30 rebate(blah!) He might be stuck getting another card from there if they only give him credit, but if not, what would you guys suggest?

I found this card which seems rather nice, espcially if you enable the pipelines and such...

Hehe, well that is a great card. Still can't beat that 850 PCIe Newegg offers for the same price but oh well. Maybe I'll get him one of these cards and just have him pay me if he can. I don't think he has a credit card of his own :P

Makes me kinda frustrated I spent that amount on a 6600 128MB card a year ago... :(

more than $500? lol...

anyway, i'd get ati card,
if not get a better nvidia cards like 7800, (they are cheaper these days)

I tend to go for nvidia as I've heard of problems with the more recent ATI cards(like newer than the 800 series) but so many people use the 850's, I know I'd get one if I was looking to upgrade. Newegg has that 850XT PCIe for what, 160? Very nice!

But, back to the topic...I'll see what this guy wants if I catch him online.
