Best AMD CPU to overclock

hey guys
i was just wondering what AMD 32bit CPU i would most get my money out of on a A7N8X-Delux m0b0. I was thinking about a 2600+.
but i was just wondering what you guys thought.
And could you guys tell me what a stable OC i would be able to get upto with a midrange-highend FAN cooling+heatsink

what is the best AMD XP CPU to overclock and what would be a suitable cooling system and stable overclock speed.
money isnt really a issue but i already have this 32bit m0b0... longstory, but i got it.

what CPU's are locked? are any 2600? are any 3200? etc......

The best would prolly be the 2800+

Anything after the 2800 for sure ... some 2800s are locked.

No we cant tell you. OC potential is very specific. :)

If you OC too much you melt the chip period. Or if you run a 1.2Ghz Duron without a HS you fry it immediately..........not that I would know.........

I doubt you'll be able to litterally melt the chip (if thats what you meant); if you meant figuratively: if you're dumb enough to do something like that then you deserve to melt it.

Or if you run a 1.2Ghz Duron without a HS you fry it immediately..........

1. People who do that deserve whatever happens to them
2. The motherboard should be kicking in ... it did for my XP2500 without a heatsink and for the Athlon1200 too
 
1. I did fry a 1.2 Duron because I didn't know enough about computers back when I did it (1995 or '96)
2. Motherboard did not kick in because it was a POS
3. I meant the deadly comment as a joke, but it is also true if you don't know what you're doing.
 
so what cpu should i get?
what heatsink/fan wou;d be effective with this CPU?

1. Depends on the budget. Id shoot for the 2800
2. For me, the Tt Volcano12 Extreme :)
