Best Anti-Virus Program

Okay, Norton Anti-Virus is so bad.
Adaware seems to be alright and so does spybot I guess.
What is the best program you use?

The last few times I've used Norton, it wasn't "BAD", but just a major resource hog. However, being as cheap as I am, I use free antivirus programs :P I agree with soccerdude, AVG is pretty darn good, probably the best free one around.

AVG 7.1 Free edition along with AdAware SE Personal and Ewido have worked quite well together for months now. AVG is the actual antivirus utility that will often warn of adwares and spywares it detects. Others prefer Avast as the one they would recommend. AVG here sorry!

If you are a very 'Safe' and 'Limited' internet, email user, the combo of AVG, Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D and Zonealarm Free should offer you enough Security Protection. But heavy users of the internet, Email , Messengers, Downloading, etc will require better protection than this. In today's 'Malware Enviroment', it's frankly not good enough anymore. Here are some tests to look.

Antivirus Tests- http://www.av-comparatives.org/ (online results/Aug/online results)

1.Antivir
2.Avast
3.AVG

Firewall tests- http://www.firewallleaktester.com/tests_overview.php (bottom of page/view results)

Free Zonealarm offers very poor outbound protection.

For any of you that are interested, i will list a 'Completely Free' setup below that will be hard to beat as a Freebie.

Realtime

Antivir
Jetico or Comodo Firewall
Spyware Terminator
Winpatrol
System Safety Monitor
Spyware Blaster

On-Demand

Ewido
A-squared
Superantispyware

Switch to Firefox or Opera Browsers.

CCleaner to clear out anything hiding in the temp files.

POP Peeper to delete spam right on the server.
